RESIDENT EVIL 8 (2025)

Resident Evil 8 (2025) picks up after the chaos unleashed in Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. The Umbrella Corporation’s shadow still lingers, but the new chapter dives deeper into bioweapons, global conspiracy, and survival horror on an unprecedented scale.
The film introduces Ethan Winters’ arc on the big screen while keeping ties to iconic characters like Claire Redfield, Leon Kennedy, and Jill Valentine. Instead of a single claustrophobic setting, the movie spans snowy Eastern European villages, abandoned Umbrella labs, and urban survival zones, merging the gothic atmosphere of RE Village with the high-octane chaos fans expect.
The movie is drenched in gothic horror aesthetics, from candlelit castles to grotesque laboratories. The CGI creatures—lycans, mutated zombies, and bio-weapons—are both terrifying and realistic. Director Johannes Roberts leans heavily on shadows, jump scares, and claustrophobic camera work, paying homage to the video game roots.
Key highlight: the siege of the village sequence, where hordes of lycans overwhelm survivors, blending chaos, blood, and desperation.
