Venom 4: King in Black (2025)

The film adapts Marvel’s famous King in Black comic arc, bringing the terrifying god of the symbiotes, Knull, to the big screen. Earth becomes the battlefield as Knull descends, unleashing an army of symbiotes that shroud the planet in darkness. Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and Venom must confront their deepest fears, not only fighting for survival but also for the very soul of humanity.

Visuals & Tone

Visually, this is the darkest Venom film yet. The CGI is massive in scale: shadowy symbiote dragons engulf cities, while Knull’s presence radiates an ancient, godlike menace. The tone is less comedic and more horrific, finally embracing the nightmarish elements that fans have craved.

The action sequences are enormous—citywide battles, Venom’s brutal combat style, and cosmic horror imagery that feels straight out of a heavy-metal album cover.

Strengths

  • Epic scope and cosmic stakes.

  • Faithful adaptation of King in Black comic themes.

  • Strong emotional arc for Eddie & Venom.

  • A chilling new villain in Knull, who raises the franchise’s intensity.

Weaknesses

  • The darker tone may alienate fans who enjoyed the lighter comedy of Venom 2.

  • Some side characters are underdeveloped amidst the chaos.
