Animation & Visuals
Pixar has truly outdone itself with the animation in Brave 2. The beauty of the Scottish Highlands is brought to life with stunning detail, and the magic elements have been elevated to new heights. From lush forests to mystical, ethereal scenes, the animation flows seamlessly, enhancing both the emotional and action-packed moments. The vibrant colors and the intricate design of the mythical creatures and environments create a visually captivating experience.
Characters & Voice Acting
Kelly Macdonald reprises her role as Merida, and she once again brings depth to the character, embodying the fierce independence, growth, and vulnerability of a young leader. Emma Thompson’s return as Queen Elinor is a highlight, with her portrayal of a mother balancing wisdom, love, and the evolving relationship with her daughter being heartwarming and real.
New characters, both allies and antagonists, add intriguing layers to the plot. The villain, a mysterious figure with a deep connection to ancient Scottish magic, is both compelling and terrifying, adding a darker tone to the story. The ensemble cast, including supporting characters like Merida’s brothers, contributes humor and heart, as they continue to bring levity to the intense situations.
