The highly anticipated Prison Break Season 6 has seen multiple developments over the years, though its future remains somewhat uncertain. Initially, after the 2017 revival, plans for a new season emerged, with both Dominic Purcell (Lincoln Burrows) and Wentworth Miller (Michael Scofield) expected to return. However, Wentworth Miller officially announced in 2020 that he would no longer portray Michael Scofield, specifically due to a reluctance to play straight characters.  Despite this, excitement around the series continued. In 2023, a reboot was confirmed by Hulu, promising a new chapter set in the Prison Break universe, but it will not focus on the original characters like Michael or Lincoln​. The reboot will be helmed by Elgin James, co-creator of Mayans M.C., bringing a fresh perspective to the franchise​.
